Las Arenas and Malvarrosa
Valencia guide · 4 min read
What Valencia’s city beach is like in front of Passeig de Neptú: its stretches, the promenade, the light and tips to enjoy it.
One beach, several names
Las Arenas beach starts right in front of Passeig de Neptú 24, the stretch closest to the port. To the north it runs on, uninterrupted, as Malvarrosa and then, in Alboraia, as Patacona. The sand is fine and wide with a gentle slope: the water stays shallow for many metres, which families appreciate.
The promenade
A pedestrian promenade lines the whole beachfront, with palm trees, benches and a bike lane. Mornings belong to runners and walkers, midday to rice dishes on the terraces, and evenings to families and dogs on leads. You can see almost all of it from NEPTÚ24-4’s balcony.
The best light
The beach faces east: here you watch the sun rise out of the sea, not set. On weekdays and early in the morning the sand is almost empty, even in summer. In winter, with 15 to 18 degrees at midday, lunch in the sun on the promenade is normal.
Practical tips
There are showers and wooden walkways along the beach. Every apartment has an umbrella and chairs or loungers to take down. During the bathing season, city rules limit dogs on the sand: see our guide “Valencia with your dog”.
