The Marina and Veles e Vents

Valencia guide · 3 min read

La Marina de València, the former America’s Cup harbour next to Passeig de Neptú: what to see, where to eat and how to stroll.

From port to city

La Marina is the historic inner harbour of Valencia’s port, opened to the public after the 2007 America’s Cup sailing race. Today it is a large public space by the sea, a stone’s throw from Passeig de Neptú.

Veles e Vents

The white building with cantilevered terraces you can see from NEPTÚ24-5 is Veles e Vents, designed by David Chipperfield as the America’s Cup base. It hosts restaurants and exhibitions, and its terraces have some of the best views of the harbour.

Walk, eat, sail

The old dockside warehouses host activities and events; along the pontoons there are sailing schools and boat rentals. At sunset, the walk between cranes and sailing boats is one of the calmest in the city.
